Never Go Home: A Novel (A Faulkner Family Thriller)
Suzie Faulkner is a little bit of a badass. And in Never Go Home, she shows that she is ready to take on the world. When her uncle has a heart attack and has to have surgery, Suzie takes it upon herself to take care of her uncle’s less-than-legal business doings. But this time, Suzie finds herself stuck amongst the Surenos, the FBI, and a psychotic Army man named Finn.
This book’s story takes Suzie from one place to another. I felt like she was solving several problems at once and somehow managed to dodge bullets. More than once. Never Go Home is fast-paced and full of action. It does a great job of connecting all of the characters and giving the reader background into each of them. The backdrop of Atlanta and its ghetto suburbs also adds to the danger of the book as Suzie dives right in. I especially loved the flamboyant Frankie and the macho, but not so macho, Caesar, who help Suzie along the way. This book is perfect for fans of Patterson and Baldacci.
