My Summer Darlings

Will Harding is the new bachelor in a Texas suburb, and best friends Jen, Cynthia, and Kittie are intrigued. Ready to move on from her recent divorce, Jen begins dating Will and shares every detail with her friends. When the relationship stalls, Will’s devious ways are revealed, but that makes him all the more exciting. He seduces each woman, which leads to dangerous consequences.

My Summer Darlings was a fun read, full of drama and backstabbing. All of the women are drawn to Will, causing them to betray their husbands and best friends. This book was very entertaining, and I enjoyed the suspenseful element of figuring out who had gone missing and why. This aspect picked up at the end, and I was anxious to see how it all played out. The alternating narration kept the plot moving, and although several characters were unlikeable, each story was entertaining. I hoped Jen’s circumstances would improve, cringed at Kittie’s alcohol-induced actions, and was shocked by Cynthia’s secret affair. This book is full of big houses, teenage attitudes, and snarky housewives, and would be the perfect companion to a beach vacation
