My Dad is a Grizzly Bear
A young boy is pretty sure that his dad is a grizzly bear. After all, he growls and waves his huge paws around when he chases the boy and his sister, he has scratchy fur, and he eats all the honey in the house. Every drop! He makes the family go for long, long walks in the woods, even when it’s very cold. He catches fish in his teeth, climbs tall trees, runs so fast, and growls really, really loud. And when the family goes camping in the woods, Dad wanders in the woods leaving the family behind until Mom tells a really scary story. Guess who comes to the rescue?
Silliness goes a long way with little listeners, and author Swapha Haddow has written a truly fun and funny story that will have little ones giggling all the way through. The story is a fresh take on dad stories and a very clever one at that. The illustrations by Dapo Adeola are bright and silly and filled with wonderful details that will keep youngsters engaged with the pages, searching for all the fun to be found there. This book has “Read it again, please!” written all over it.
