Marada the She-Wolf
It is not everyday that you come across a hardcover comic book, even a compilation; however, Titan Books doesn’t spare anything when their name is attached. An 80’s classic has been reborn in this oversized book complete with an introduction to the work of both Chris Claremont and John Bolton, followed by the incredible story of Marada the She-Wolf and how she came to be and of her struggles. From the early artwork to the legacy that remains you will be pleased to display this book as a fine piece of art.
The three stories within this book are elaborately illustrated with the richest details portraying the women with voluptuous beauty and fervor. The detailed line work and coloring is modern, but the layout and flow maintains that classic look familiar with the earlier comics. This is a unique story, and one of my favorites as it provides a powerful leading woman and Roman mythology, a story that is both heroic and timeless. If there is only one sequential art book you buy this year, make this the one.
