An explosive psychological thriller that could really hit home. Robyn Tate is a middle-aged police detective who lives on her own and has an addiction to online porn. But what she doesn´t know is that there is someone watching what she does while watching the porn, until she receives an email with an attachment. Then her life turns upside down as she tries to figure out what to do while she and her work partner are also trying to solve a murder.
Wow, this book completely blew me away; I loved it. I was hooked from page one. I read the book in two sittings and I was enthralled by it, the darkness behind it and the reality that is probably happening out there. The author also covers some real issues of lack of self esteem that are also very real for loads and loads of women in the real world.
I loved the way it was written, in the first person from Robyn´s point of view, very cleverly done, and with some parts in the third person from the hacker’s side. I also was surprised with the ending, as I hadn´t caught on as to who did it; nicely done, although I would have liked a longer book. I liked that there were only a few characters; this way I didn´t get confused with who is who.
There wasn’t a best part; it was all very good indeed, very well written and well edited. The author gives well explained details of how easy it is to hack computers and it seems to have been well researched. It is a little scary to understand how easy it is for someone with basic technical knowledge to do this.
I can highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good psychological thriller with a dark side, one that has been well written and well researched.
