Jason Fung, MD, is the seminal expert for the renewed interest in fasting, and his scientific, evidence-based recommendations form the cornerstone of this follow-up to his much more technical and detailed The Obesity Code. This book is very easy to read and to understand, without medical jargon or difficult explanations of hormone interactions, so it is accessible to any reader who wants to understand what IF is all about and how to implement it most successfully. The other two authors have worked with Dr. Fung and share their own stories and those of many clients who have implemented this lifestyle, leading not only to (sometimes quite dramatic) weight loss, but additionally, incredible healing even from conditions often thought incurable, such as type 2 diabetes. The stories are heartening and encouraging, the science is sound, and the method is remarkably simple: just abstain from eating for a certain amount of time. The authors walk you through issues of concern, such as timing, nutrition, and how to deal with hunger. Most refreshingly, they are very clear that each person, being an individual, will need to find their own fasting and eating regimen, and they give you great guidance on how to find that and make it work for you.
