Lava Red Feather Blue
For centuries, Larkin, a prince on the island of Eidolonia, has been trapped in a magic sleep, fulfilling half of his people’s bargain to create a truce with the fae. But when a modern-day witch named Merrick accidentally finds himself in the same bower where Larkin sleeps, he wakes him up. Not on purpose, of course, but that doesn’t change the fact that he may have caused some huge problems: the faery Ula Kana is awake again now too, and she’s ready to resume her quest to eradicate humans from the island. Now Merrick and Larkin must team up to stop Ula Kana once and for all.
Molly Ringle’s novel Lava Red Feather Blue is, simply put, a delight to read, just like all of her other stories. Merrick and Larkin are unlikely heroes, and readers will enjoy watching them learn to work together in order to bring peace back to the land. The world Ringle weaves is fascinating, with just the right amount of magic and beautiful descriptions of the island setting. This is a delightful novel that readers will devour.
