When I saw that there was a Kawaii Sweet World Cookbook, I just had to have it! Not only does this book feature seventy-five of Rachel Fong’s recipes, it also includes beautiful color photos of each adorable treat. I looked through each page oohing and ahhing over just how cute each pastry was.

When it came down to making them, I chose to make the oatmeal bear cookies. I used chocolate chips for the eyes and nose (instead of a raisin for the nose). These cookies came out perfectly and were a big hit in our home.

The book includes a description of the required ingredients and possible substitutions, as well as a list of the best candies and the best tools, and some tips and tricks for making your delectables turn out just right!

Next up, I think I’ll try my hand at making the Chocolate Monkey Cookies and Lemon Bars. The Lemon Bars are decorated to look like little lemon wedges with happy faces using pink confetti sprinkles for their rosy cheeks. So, so cute! This book is a must for anyone who loves to bake “kawaii,” or cute, things!
