Japanese Origami Kit for Kids: 92 Colorful Folding Papers and 12 Original Origami Projects for Hours of Creative Fun!
Most kids like to make things, especially things that are pretty and that not everyone knows how to do. This nice kit contains everything one needs to get started in the art of origami. The small booklet is well designed and written. After a short introduction, there is a discussion of the best paper to use, the key to the symbols used in the book, and a good explanation of origami techniques. The instructions are clear with good illustrations that youngsters will be able to follow successfully. The twelve projects in the book are perfect to capture the interest of young people. They are bright and pretty and distinctive. Children will recognize the ever-popular crane and perhaps the lotus blossom, but the others will probably be new to young readers. Some are quite simple looking, such as the masu box and good-luck box, but the fan and koi are pretty fancy. In addition to the book, the kit contains 72 sheets of papers with beautiful, brightly colored designs on one side and solid colors on the opposite side, as well as 20 practice dollar bills. This is a great package for the middle-school set.
