Unicorns are magical creatures that are the envy of all other animals- especially this spunky one-horned bull who has convinced themself they are a unicorn. They begin to question their identity due to their lack of magical abilities, sparkle factor, and overall mystical nature. When a couple of real unicorns enter the scene, the bull becomes overcome with the realization that they are not a real unicorn. One of the unicorns sees the bull’s single horn and gives them hope, along with a mystical item that will help the bull.

Helen Yoon created the whimsical images and storyline for “I’m a Unicorn”. This book will be enjoyed by younger readers ages two to six years old who enjoy silly humor. Adults should note that there’s are several bathroom-related references present in this story. Parents could use this book as an encouraging tool to get their younger child to use the toilet. For older children, adults could focus on the social-emotional aspect of fitting in and feeling accepted.
