I Spy: A Novel
I Spy is an intriguing novel by Claire Kendall that focuses on Holly and her ambition to become an MI5 spy. Upon failing the final interview, Holly goes to work in a hospital where she meets Dr. Zac Hunter and falls madly in love with him. But as their relationship progresses, Holly realizes that Zac is not the sweet, suave, loving man that he was at the beginning of the relationship. And as she experiences his mean, jealous self, Holly knows that she is in trouble.
The story moves back and forth between past and present, and it is not until the present that Holly realizes that she could be in danger. As MI5 uses her for intel, Holly digs deeper and deeper into Zac’s past and possibly present evil doings. She ends up meeting a woman and her little daughter at the hospital, and she notices the little girl has the same eyes as Zac. One eye is two-colored while the other is solid. This book has a fantastic cast of characters that will keep you guessing who is reliable and who has something to hide. The twist at the end is perfect for fans of psychological thriller and suspense.
