How to Give Up Plastic

An activist for the preservation of our planet, Will McCallum, has provided us with ways of How to Give Up Plastic. Unfortunately, after the creation of the plastic bag in the 1960s, the world latched on to this invention and watched as it helped their products to flourish, without any thoughts on the long-term usage of plastic. We are discovering the vast ill-effects that plastic of all kinds is having on the world. Plastic may appear as beneficial, but I applaud businesses such as Aldi and Goodwill that have done away with plastic bags and have shown that it is possible to shop without them.

The key to this topic is to try to limit your use of plastics, and at the least, try to reuse as much plastic as possible. McCallum does an excellent job of presenting ways in which we, who think we have no voice, can make ourselves heard and do our part for the planet. The statistics of how much plastic is around and in the ocean is shocking, and the impact it is having on both animals and humans is sad. This book should be taken seriously and be used as an aid to help us live on our planet for many more years.
