Hotelles: A Novel
Hotelles begins with Elle, a high priced escort, or “hotelle”, in a Paris hotel room. What begins as simply a transaction between escort and client becomes a life-changing journey to self-discovery. Elle meets David, the friend of a client, and within months they are engaged to be married. Shortly after meeting David, a mysterious notebook is deposited in Elle’s purse and short erotic notes are left daily, challenging her to push her personal boundaries. Often times a key to a room at the high end hourly hotel used for her services is included, and each time, Elle is a part of a sexual/sensual experiment that has her letting go of her inhibitions each time.
Five stars are simply not enough for this book. It is engaging from the very first page and delights and awakens the senses at every turn. While not as blatantly explicit as a lot of erotica seems to be these days, Hotelles challenges the reader to engage their imagination and experience the book with all of their senses. Ms. Mars has created a masterpiece of literary erotica that can be read time and time again, with each consideration revealing more than the last.
