Her Three Lives
Jade Thompson is a social media influencer who is about to marry Greg, a successful architect. He’s twenty years older than her, with two adult children, and still in the process of divorcing his first wife. Things seem to be going their way, until a home invasion leaves Greg with a brain injury. After some recovery, Greg heals at home, although he is left paranoid after the attack. He installs security cameras everywhere, certain that his attackers will be back. As he watches Jade in her comings and goings, he wonders how well he really knows her and how much he’s worth to her, dead or alive. Jade has her public life, her private life, and her secret life, and all three are about to come crashing together.
This is the third or fourth book I’ve read by Cate Holahan and I would say that it’s probably my second favorite. My only criticisms would be that it could have been longer, to allow room for more character development, and that the ending isn’t entirely clear as to what happens to a certain character. If you enjoy quick reads featuring psychological suspense, you’ll enjoy this book. Overall, it makes a great choice for at the beach or when staying in.
