Have You Seen My Friends? is a story about a unique purple creature who is looking for their lost friends: Curiosity, Courage, and Creativity. Curiosity is portrayed as an inquisitive monkey with a thirst for knowledge. Courage is represented as a brave blue owl who encourages others to face their fears. Creativity takes the form of an imaginative rabbit who believes the world is full of endless possibilities. The purple polka-dotted character begins to feel these vital entities slip away the more they focus on being responsible and mature.

Growing up is inevitable, but it doesn’t mean your creativity, courage, or curiosity should be stifled in the process. Although the main character temporarily loses these vital companions, they are not gone forever. Author Monica H. Kang’s clear but colorful writing style is great for young readers ages five to eight. Have You Seen My Friends? proves that people of all ages can benefit from a wondrous spirit, a heightened sense of imagination, and taking risks.
