Go, Sled! Go!
Sled rides down the mountain can be fun and exciting, but what happens when the sled gets out of control, continues to gain momentum, and picks up additional passengers down the mountain? That is what happens in this story by award-winning author James Yang.
At first the sled adventure is fun and safe, but each additional page brings additional obstacles to get through. Each obstacle is added to the sled for the enjoyment of the reader. Eventually, a very full sled, including a cook, a snowman, a moose, penguins bowled over like bowling pins, a rabbit, and a fox, ends its ride at the bottom of the hill with everyone in the café enjoying a nice hot chocolate. Only the young boy wants to go again.
The art in this book makes the story highly engaging and easy to follow if the child decides not to read the words. Each page features a different character, and with only a few easy words on each page, it is designed for young readers who are starting to read on their own.
