Fossil
One bright and sunny morning a young boy and his dog set off for a fun walk on the beach. Little did the boy know that the day would be filled with more than a pleasant walk with his dog! Happening to stumble over a fossilized fern (quite literally), the boy sets into motion a series of events that brings ancient plants and animals to life in this modern world. But when a flying dinosaur threatens to take off with the boy’s dog, the boy must resort to some quick thinking in order to make all things return to normal.
Bill Thomson’s wordless book Fossil brings to life a story of adventure of discovery. It delves deep into a child’s imagination and generates extraordinary events. The beautifully realistic drawings are so detailed that words are not needed to convey the book’s story. This is a perfect book for a pre-reader, as he/she can sit with the illustrations and come up with his/her own words. Fossil is a beautiful exercise for the young imagination and is ideal for a preschool or kindergarten aged child.
