Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice (The Finlay Donovan Series, 4)

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the first book I’ve read in the Finlay Donovan series by Elle Cosimano. The story starts off with the main character, Finlay, going on a “girls trip” to Las Vegas with her kids’ babysitter Vero. The trip is a disguise for the two women to find Finlay’s missing Aston Martin given to her by a Russian mobster and Vero’s childhood crush, Javi who is being held for the money he owes a loan shark.

I don’t know why this story was so long and drawn out because there really wasn’t a whole lot that happens. The story is mostly about Finlay and Vero trying to dodge Finlay’s ex, her mother, and her boyfriend Nick, a police officer while trying to find the car and Javi. This book is like a wild good chase and although there are some funny and exciting parts in it, there were so many characters introduced throughout the book that it was a little hard to follow. Finlay and Vero are both fun and quirky, but the storyline is really farfetched and I got bored halfway through the book wondering when it was going to wrap up.
