Finlay Donovan Knocks ‘Em Dead picks up where Finlay Donovan is Killing It left off, with Finlay struggling to piece together her latest romantic mystery novel, while hiding crimes of her own. Finlay and her sidekick Vero discover that there is a hit on Finlay’s ex-husband, Steven, and stir up some serious trouble when they try to uncover who is behind the murder for hire. Finlay also juggles two love interests, resulting in a hilarious and entertaining saga that is tough to put down!

After reading both Finlay Donovan novels back-to-back, I enjoyed this sequel more than the series starter! Finlay is an entertaining lead, and her dynamic with Vero is perfect. I enjoyed the suspense of Finlay’s amateur sleuthing, and her narrow misses with dangerous situations. The balance between humor and mystery was just right and held my interest throughout. I did not expect the twist and the end and look forward to Finlay’s next adventure!
