Finding God in Tough Times: 90 Devotions for Real Girls Facing Real Life (Faithgirlz!)
There are several books I keep in our family library, colorfully displayed and available in hopes that my eldest daughter will pick it up and enjoy it. If I ask her to read something, she’s not overly enthusiastic. If it’s available and interests her but mom doesn’t mention it, that same book brings hours of reading and life lessons too. Finding God in Tough Times by Kristi Holl is exactly one of those books. Ninety devotions for real girls facing real life, as the cover proclaims, is a fantastic way to help our growing girls with their life dilemmas without lecturing. The world can be a scary place and growing up is confusing. Holl helps girls through some major hurdles in scripture-rich way, finding God in any of the tough times they may face on their journey to womanhood.
Moving away from all of your friends and starting over in a new school? Annoying siblings who just won’t let up? Is bullying a problem? These are just a few of many pertinent, short devotional topics to help girls feel like they have their life under control, to understand the challenges they face, and to find comfort in God when the going gets rough. If you have a pre-teen or teenage daughter, this book could provide her with a lot of peace of mind.
