Finding Claire Fletcher
Finding Claire Fletcher is a novel of the crime/thriller genre. It opens in a bar, where Connor Parks is sulking because of trouble at work and at home. Enter Claire Fletcher, for whom he has an instant liking. Spending one night together, he wakes up to find a note with her address. Following this lead, Connor ends up at the Fletcher home, where he is informed by her siblings that Claire disappeared ten years ago. Being a police officer at mind and heart, Connor vows to find this mystery woman. Turning over police records and searching leads, he ends up uncovering a decade-old kidnapping and a threat to his life.
Claire Fletcher could never go back to her old life when she was abducted ten years ago. During this time, she has endured mental torture as her abductor blackmails her with her worst fears, attacking her personality blow by blow. Multiple times she’s tried to outrun him, leading to violence against those she ran to distress. Claire takes on the identity her captor gave her, as adapting to Lynn would keep his antics at bay. When she sees Connor, she likes him for being honest and leaves her address, thinking he may just save her from captivity. Will Connor find Claire Fletcher, given the risk to his life? Read the book to find out.
The mystery of this novel is very gripping and can possibly keep the reader up at nights (guilty as charged). The story is not your typical romance and makes one realize you can’t trust someone on face value. Sprinkled with the gruesome realities of the crimes committed in this world, this novel has every element of a mystery novel. The character of Claire appears to be the strongest, most resilient, yet patient, woman. Author Lisa Regan has penned an excellent novel. Recommended for adult readers of the genre.
