Butt-whipping, smash-talking, and planet-saving screams Dragon Ball Super! In the twelfth book of the series, Merus’s True Identity, the storyline of Goku, Vegeta, and the rest of the Dragon Ball clan continues with Goku and Vegeta training on their respective planets in hopes of defeating Moro. After an embarrassing defeat from him, they are quickly accruing the necessary skills for a successful battle. In the meantime, Moro has released criminals from the intergalactic prison and searching for energy from surrounding planets, including earth. As part of his henchmen, a criminal known as Seven-Three has extraordinary powers that appear too good to be true. Can the heroes outsmart the villains this go-around?

With Merus’s True Identity being the twelfth book in the series, it would be helpful to be familiar with the previous books, but this one holds its own. My husband is a big Dragon Ball Z fan, so I asked him some questions when needed (mostly about the pronunciation of names) but he informed me that this storyline has surpassed what he has seen from the television series. Merus’s True Identity is action-packed and exciting and everything you’d expect from a Dragon Ball story.
