In Dear Wife, Beth is on the run, trying to hide from her abusive husband. It took a year of planning, but she’s finally done it. Miles away, Jeffrey returns home to find his wife, Sabine, is missing. Detective Marcus Durand is on the case and he will stop at nothing to discover what really happened. The stories begin to intertwine and it becomes clear that one woman’s fate is tied to the other’s. Beth knows it won’t be long before her husband finds her, and so, she prepares and plans to not go out without a fight.

This book was very cleverly written with multiple chapters told from the perspective of different characters. All of them have their secrets making it hard to figure out how the stories are connected. But when it comes together, it is a fast-paced thrill ride that you can’t put down until you see how it ends. You want to encourage Beth while you try to figure out what happened to Sabine. As you read each chapter, you see little hints and clues that lead you where to go in drawing a conclusion, but it still surprises you when it becomes clear. If you enjoyed Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris, then I think you will like this book. This book was also much better than Belle’s previous book, Three Days Missing, so if you started with that one, you should still check this one out.
