║Dead of Winter is the third book in Kresley Cole’s The Arcana Chronicles. Evie has escaped Death’s castle in order to rescue Jack. Although she’s unsure about her feelings for Jack, she knows she has to rescue him from the clutches of the Most Perverse Lovers. Evie journeys through the wasteland filled with Bagman, plague, Slavers, and other perils. And when an ally Arcana is kidnapped, Evie must convince her two lovers to work together and help her with that rescue. But, will they do it without killing each other first? And, even if they do, can Evie forgive either of them for their lies and betrayals?║I had very mixed feeling about Dead of Winter. It took me way too long to get “into” this novel; in fact, I almost gave up. It wasn’t until I was about one hundred pages in that I started to enjoy it more, and felt like the real action picked up. However, what I kept thinking while reading was, “haven’t I already read this in the previous two books?” While the writing was good, the development of the story was slow and repetitive.║
