City Trails – London
There are plenty of travel books available for those visiting London, but most focus on things that would be of interest to an adult audience with lists of stuffy hotels and hip pubs. Kids are often dragged along on trips planned for and by adults. It’s high time kids have a travel book that is just for them. This is a perfect answer to that need. Broken into nineteen little sections that include such things as “Yummy London,” “Magical Mysteries and Legends,” “Scream Streets,” “Secrets Revealed,” and “Right Royal Route,” there are lots of things that will interest any young person who find himself or herself on vacation in the great city. Each page is covered with fun graphics, great illustrations and photographs, and descriptions of two or more featured places. All the writing is pitch perfect for the young audience as well as being lively and humorous. Some special places, such as the Globe Theatre and the All England Club where the Wimbledon Tournament is held, have spreads with lots of extra information. This small book at about eight inches square will tuck nicely into a backpack for day trips. Independent young people will especially appreciate this perfect little book.
