Christmas Bliss
Christmas Bliss tells the story about the final week before a Christmastime wedding where the threads of a carefully planned event begin to unravel. Weezie, who greatly depends on her best friend and maid of honor, BeBe, is encouraged to be with her husband-to-be, who is working, temporarily, in New York. The rough New York winter and big city culture is a shock for the innocent, small-community Savannah girl and the learning curve is steep as she adjusts. BeBe, due to give birth any day, is in the middle of a home remodeling to create a nest for her expanding family, running a small motel during one of its peak seasons, while trying to manage her best friend’s wedding. But a storm throws her partner into imminent danger and she is the only one who can help. Will there be a wedding? Will there be a baby? Will there be a loss of life? The emotions mount as the wedding hour approaches. While not a polished piece of literary writing, it is a great escape for a cold, winter afternoon.
