Bound By Murder (An Antique Bookshop Mystery Book 3)
Bound by Murder is a small-town murder mystery that centers around the main character, Jenna, and her past. Jenna owns a used bookstore in town and lives in the apartment above it. She is surrounded by wonderful neighbors and fellow store owners, including a wedding shop, bakery, and candle shop. She is also dating a wonderful man named Keith, a detective with the local police department. Jenna almost passes out one day when her ex-fiance Blake, who dumped her after she was accused and acquitted of embezzlement at her last job, walks into her shop with his new fiancee Missy. Missy is a horrible bridezilla who ends up making many enemies and getting a lot of cold stares because she and her bridesmaids are so obnoxious. Then Missy turns up dead.
This book was a really fun read with fun characters, especially the wedding planner and organizer, Rita. I also really liked Keith’s partner, Tish, who was sassy and cool. I did find many parts of the book to be unrealistic, especially the part where Tish, a police officer, gives Jenna inside information on the evidence found at the scene of the crime. I don’t think any officer would do this in an open case, ever. This book is perfect for fans of mysteries set in charming small towns with quirky characters.
