Book Nerd

Bibliophiles will find themselves overjoyed and saying, “That’s me! Yes, I do that?” or “Oh, that’s so true!” as they flip through Holly Macguire’s Book Nerd. This little picture book illustrates the life of a book lover with her colorful and whimsical pictures. From clever sayings such as “When you carry a good book with you, it’s like having a good friend by your side.” to interesting facts about libraries and books, this book will have its readers reading it from cover to cover several times.

One of my favorite pages in the book is the one that shows the many things bibliophiles use as bookmarks. I can definitely relate to this and can probably add a few more unconventional “bookmarks” to the page. I also really like the page about “Other uses for books”. Yes, they can be the perfect doorstop or can be used to hide a chocolate stash. I’d like to add that a book could probably make a pretty good self-defense tool as well. As long as it’s a hardback! This book is the perfect gift for the book lovers in your life.
