Bigfoot: Exploring the Myth & Discovering the Truth
When discussions of Bigfoot in North America come up, people generally think of tales from Washington State, but there are many stories from the southern states that do not get nearly as much attention. And yet, these stories have some amazing commonalities and a consistency that should demand serious study and some scientific inquiry. The two writers, Tom Burnette and Rob Riggs, have each spent more than twenty years interviewing eye-witnesses, collecting family stories, and doing field work of their own to track down creatures that have been called various names from Bigfoot to swamp devil to booger to wild man and more. People believe a huge forest would be necessary for such a creature to have stayed hidden for so long, but there are such places from North Carolina to Texas, and the stories of this mystery are wide-spread through that whole area and have been rather consistent for the last hundred years or so. This is a well-written and thrilling account of their work. The stories in this book will raise the hair on the back of one’s neck and cause sleepless nights, especially if one lives near a big woods.
