Battle Magic

Continuing the story told in her magic series, Battle Magic takes place on a journey that Rosethorn, Briar, and Evvy have taken to the kingdom of Gyongxe where the First Temple of the Living Circle is located. Unexpectedly the mage trio is invited to see the wondrous gardens of the emperor of Yangjing.. Rosethorn is sworn to protect the first temple and plans are laid to journey back and warn the God-King of the impending invasion. This richly detailed series could rest on its laurels and simply tell its many fans additional stories on a wonderful foundation. Not content with that, Tamora Pierce takes us deeper and wider into new facets of her setting, and we learn more about the magic, and the people, even those characters whom we have known for some time.
