Babylon & Sumer Myths and Legends is a new collection of some of the oldest stories preserved in written form. Curated and retold by scholars Fiona Collins and June Peters, this anthology brings together tales of heroes, gods, and monsters from the ancient world. Included are “The Babylonian Myth of Creation,” the stories of Inana, “The Epic of Gilgamesh,” and many more tales, hymns, poems, and debates from antiquity. These stories have been thoroughly studied and debated for years, and what is presented here reflects the interpretations of Collins and Peters.

Babylon & Sumer Myths and Legends is part of Flame Tree Publications’ collector’s edition series, meaning it is beautifully bound and would look stunning on any bookshelf. Beyond its appearance, the stories themselves represent an important part of early human history. The introduction was written by Professor Martin Worthington of the Department of Middle Eastern Studies at Trinity College Dublin.
