Art for All Seasons: 40 Creative Mixed Media Adventures for Children
Young artists really like to have their own space in which to work, and do their creative work on their own. They love the idea of finding and using materials that don’t always come in a box, but instead are things they can find on their own. This lovely book has a guide for young artists to set up their own studio, and suggestions for finding and using materials, some out in the natural world, and some around the house. These materials can then be incorporated into art projects that are specific to different seasons of the year. For each of the four seasons, there are ten projects, each with step-by-step directions, and photographs showing these steps and the final product. A wide variety of media are displayed—from clay sculpture, to needlework, to painting, to print-making, and more. In addition, there are recipes for papier-mâché goo and salt clay, along with excellent salt clay tips. This may be the best art book for kids that has come out in recent memory, and will become a fast favorite of kids, parents, and teachers. Do not miss this terrific book.
