Animal Planet Animal Atlas
If one wants to have a child spend some time with a book, hand that child a good book about animals. That’s because kids love animals and are very curious about them. Animals live on every continent and in the ocean. This book is arranged by continents with an additional section for oceans, and broken down within those sections by habitats. Six of the continents have several habitats represented with Antarctica only represented by two — marine and ice sheet. Yet the variety of animal life is astonishing every place one might look. Young readers will delight in the several beautiful photographs on every page accompanied by just the right amount of text, a good paragraph, for each animal. Several animals are featured with huge close-up photos and a listing of Animal Facts, Where does it live?, Why does it live there?, and What does it eat? along with a paragraph about it. There are fun maps introducing each continent section with cute drawings of an animal for each habitat. Within the section, each habitat is described with an overview of the types of fauna to be found there. The writing and design are perfect. Kids will love this book.
