An Enchanting Case of Spirits
I’m a romance aficionado; however, it’s not that often I come across a romance featuring main characters over the age of forty. It’s even less often that a romance manages to pull off a decent mystery, but An Enchanting Case of Spirits does a pretty good job of hitting the mark on both counts.
On the eve of her fortieth birthday, Alyssa can’t help feeling sorry for herself. She planned on finding comfort in the bottom of an ice cream carton from the comfort of her bed, surrounded by memories of happier times before she lost her husband Garrett in a terrible car crash two years ago. But her two best friends have other things in mind, and soon she finds herself on a psychic’s doorstep, trying to connect with her husband’s ghost.
Unfortunately for her, the encounter awakens something in her, and she wakes up the next morning with the ability to see spirits. Throw in a hunky detective next door, and watch the sparks (and clues) fly while Alyssa tries to unravel unfinished business that might lead to a shocking discovery about her own terrible loss. A perfect weekend read for fans of Emily Henry and Sarah Adler.
