A Dragon of Black Glass by James Rollins
A Dragon of Black Glass is book three of James Rollins’s The Moonfall Saga. Of the three books in this exciting series, A Dragon of Black Glass is the best written. Notably, it could be read as a stand-alone novel. Rollins provides enough backstory and series context that new readers won’t feel lost. Even without revisiting book two, Cradle of Ice (2023), I had no trouble catching up on the whole series.
Rollins continues his comprehensive world-building and expands his core cast of captivating characters with some significant additions. A couple of the new characters quickly become endearing and easy to root for. As always, the dynamic characters, drama, action, and intrigue keep the plot moving at a brisk pace.
A Dragon of Black Glass is a great read for fans of fantasy action-adventure with dystopian world-building and political intrigue. The cast as a whole is well developed, not just one or two main characters. The world-building is complex and fascinating. The whole saga is an exciting series well worth the read. James Rollins is a master at storytelling, and this novel shows off his talents.
