A Christmas Legacy: A Novel

A Christmas Legacy is a wonderfully written book about a woman named Gracie who volunteers her time as a servant in the Harcourt house after a young girl named Millie Foster comes to her door telling her something is wrong at the house. As the wife of an investigator and a past servant herself, Gracie knows she must help Millie solve the mystery of the disappearing food before Millie and the rest of the child servants are thrown out for stealing it themselves.

This book has wonderful characters and gives very detailed descriptions of everything from food and pastries to the house decor. What Gracie finds while she is at Harcourt house is quite startling. The Harcourts have a secret and all of the servants know about it. What will Gracie do? What can she do? This, after all, is not her family nor is it even her occupation. She is simply helping Millie.

I really enjoyed reading A Christmas Legacy. With its heartfelt story and beautiful setting, this is a fabulous winter read.
