A Beauty Collected: A Captivating ABC Book to Discover the Beauty Around You
Though by its size this is not a traditional coffee table book, by its content it nicely qualifies. A Beauty Collected is a very beautiful photographic collection of beautiful things from nature collected, selected, and photographed by Rachel Garahan. Printed on high-quality glossy pages, this medium-sized volume is a pure pleasure to leaf through. The color photographs range from medium to extreme close-ups with a wide range of subjects, listed in alphabetic order from Aloe to Zucchini. Garahan collected several objects for each letter of the alphabet and added little or no text. Some have a short descriptor like R is for rain, nourishing the land; for geode, a marvel that some rocks may hold; for honeycomb, sweet from the bees. Garahan introduces the volume with a short text, inviting the reader to look for and admire what nature has to offer to please our eyes. At the end of the text we find a Glossary with small thumbnail photos repeating the original and a brief description and correct pronunciation of each object she photographed. This is an awesome art book.
