150 Best Breakfast Sandwich Maker Recipes
Sandwich makers are small, smart little electric devices that make hot sandwiches in a short time. Jennifer Williams created 150 Best Breakfast Sandwich Maker Recipes for this appliance including lunches, dinners and desserts. The device is a life saver for someone in a hurry who wants hot food quickly. Williams gives preparation and cooking times with all recipes; all are in the six- to eight-minute range. This sounds good but there is plenty of hidden prep time before you even turn on your sandwich maker, such as cooking bacon, meat, poultry, sausages and so on in advance. Other disadvantages are the small size of this appliance: it’s meant to be one serving. Double cooking time for two people. And many recipes call for small amounts of several ingredients (e.g. one tablespoon apricot preserve, two teaspoons mayo, one sliced jellied cranberry, or one slice of five different cold cuts and cheeses), which means you have plenty of leftover in your refrigerator or freezer and you need to keep a substantial pantry. The recipes are very good from simple to complex with variations and tips. Unfortunately, Williams didn’t include a picture of the sandwich maker. The cross-referenced index is good.
