Already boasting starred reviews from Kirkus and Publishers WeeklyPARADOX BOUND (Crown; on sale September 26) is an outrageously fun time-travel adventure that the Barnes & Noble Sci-Fi and Fantasy Blog calls “a delightful, charming sci-fi romp blending National Treasure and Doctor Who.” The book’s creator, mad genius Peter Clines, is someone even blockbuster authors cannot help geeking out over. Andy Weir, bestselling author of The Martian, called Clines’s last novel The Fold “a must-read for anyone who likes a good science-fiction thriller . . . an intelligent, exciting story with a brilliant protagonist and a mystery that genuinely surprised me.” And Ernest Cline, bestselling author of Ready Player One, described Peter Clines’s Ex-Heroes series as “The Avengersmeets The Walking Dead with a large order of epic served on the side.”

And Peter Clines is certainly in the same league as these heavy-hitters. Clines’s acclaimed novel 14 has been optioned by Robert Downey Jr.’s production company, Team Downey, who has struck a deal with Warner Brothers TV. LA Weekly has said Clines’s work is “destined for the big screen.”

Now, with PARADOX BOUND, Clines brings us a “timey-wimey, full-barrel adventure novel that also teaches a non-ironic lesson in American civics . . . [featuring] an epithet-wielding, pistol-packing heroine that will capture hearts” (Kirkus). At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con (the largest pop culture festival in the world), he was invited to speak about genre-bending on a panel that included author and io9 co-founder Charlie Jane Anders; and he will speak on a panel about character transformation at New York Comic Con this October.
