A Brooklyn-based victims’ rights lawyer, Goldberg specializes in litigating for targets of online harassment, stalking, blackmail, and sexual assault. Her book looks back over her twenty years of trauma work—which has included suing tech companies, schools, and powerful sexual predators—to give a detailed analysis of victim protection in the Internet era. As her wide range of cases demonstrates, nearly everyone is vulnerable to violations of privacy and sexual abuse. At the same time, Goldberg shows that there are ways to fight back, among them the ability to recognize the patterns of perpetrators. Goldberg will be in conversation with Margaret Talbot, staff writer for The New Yorker.
