A Fistful of Evil: An Urban Fantasy Novel
Madison Fox noticed she had soul-sight at a very young age. With the blink of an eye, she could see Primordium, a different view of the world where those who were good glowed white and those who were evil were shrouded in black sludge. When she applied for a job as a bumper sticker salesperson, she had no idea her soul-sight was anything useful. But bumper stickers were just a front for a team of people who can use soul-sight in different ways. In A Fistful of Evil, Madison becomes an enforcer, and is charged with vanquishing evil in her region.
Joining Madison are a colorful collection of characters who can do different things with their soul-sight. Madison has a crush on fellow enforcer, Niko, receives guidance from retired enforcer, Doris, and is chastised by her boss, Mr. Brad Pitt, who is not as attractive as she expected him to be. I look forward to reading more about the other characters in future books.
Madison Fox lacks confidence in her abilities, but is well on her way to becoming a formidable heroine by the end of the novel. Chastain skillfully writes fantasy into ordinary life. A Fistful of Evil would be a great addition to the adventure-lover’s library.
