Episode 6 – Divine Passions

Catherine has found what she thinks is a friend in Eleanor, who continues to snoop for information. However, much to her dismay, Catherine still struggles to be fully accepted by her staff and Ladies of the Bedchamber who gossip mercilessly, along with less than classy Barbara. Catherine’s preference to Catholicism continues to be topic of several discussions as well as attempts to bring her shame and out of the throne. However, Charles seems to have turned a small leaf and stands by and helps his queen. Barbara suggests an event, Catherine agrees. Who will come out on top?

Episode 6 of Whitehall finally shows us some growing affection between Charles and Catherine, which is a breath of fresh air that will hopefully linger. While speaking of lingering, Barbara and Eleanor both linger around the queen, looking for any opportunity to pounce for their own agendas. The characters are getting feistier, needing only to share a glance to put another in place. Perhaps our dear, delicate queen will make it after all.

Looking forward to episode 7 and more to see how this scandalous season at Whitehall plays out.
