Timeline Activity Book: Create Your Own Journey Through Time
This activity book can certainly be enjoyed on its own; but it is even better when coupled with Peter Goes’s delightful history book Timeline, which is deepened and extended with this companion. The two work very well together for introducing world history to young students. This activity book corresponds directly with the Timeline book, with colored pages that match each other, but information is not repeated, so there is reinforcement but not redundancy. The illustrations of both are rich and detailed, with lots of whimsy that will appeal to readers of all ages. But the activity book adds fun, with pages for you to color, pictures for you to complete, mazes, find-the-difference puzzles, secret codes, maps, and lots of other activities. Solutions for puzzles are included, and every page has additional tidbits of information that will interest young readers. The book begins with prehistory, then hits major eras and civilizations such as Ancient Egypt, the Greeks, the Celts, the Ming Dynasty, the Renaissance, and on into the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It’s perfect for early elementary students just beginning to learn history, with a engaging set of activities that will spark their interest for future study.
