The Stopped Heart is just as frightening as Edgar Allan Poe’s Tell-Tale Heart. Scary, suspenseful, and the most intriguing novel yet. This new thriller by Julie Myerson is incredible. Readers will feel the sweat dripping from their foreheads and their hearts pounding with fear. The story is my first novel read that was written by Julie Myerson. Her words grab readers and pull them in fast to the action at hand. Readers will never know what to expect as the story takes them back and forth from the past and present. Terrifying events that seem to haunt one family in particular. Julie Myerson’s novel is definitely a must read for all.

The Stopped Heart takes readers on a roller-coaster ride that seems to repeat itself from 150 years ago with a spine-chilling event. When a dog who is friendly to all except to a stranger who looks like he just came from hell himself —usually a blazing red flag to get away—the children understood but the parents didn’t. Now readers are taken back to the present where Mary goes back to a home that gives her the creeps. Hearing people call her name makes her jumpy, the home is one that she and her husband are trying to make their own, yet something about it gives Mary the nightmares. The pages flip by in a race to find out what happened then and what is happening now. Will the nightmares ever end or will it keep on happening? The Stopped Heart is a thriller that will brings out goosebumps every time. Julie Myerson’s stunning title will be addictive and heart stopping. Overall, I highly recommend this read to everyone.
