Dark Lycan by Christine Feehan is the twenty-fourth in her series featuring the Carpathians, many of her titles having appeared on the New York Times Bestseller list. Hence there will no doubt be vast numbers of fans out there who will snap this up and devour it with the enthusiasm only fans can bring to bear. It deals with the first meeting and subsequent lifemating of Tatijana Dragonseeker and Fenris Dalka. Because this is a love-at-first-sight bonding of the couple, there’s no real romance to the book. From the first chapter it’s assumed this couple will bond and the rest of the book describes their pursuit and destruction of a rogue pack led by a Carpathian/Lycan hybrid. If you enjoy lots of fighting with different skills and abilities on display, there are plenty of opportunities for you to watch the good guys beat the bad. But, and it’s a very big but, this is very much not the book to start with. If you want to make a fair judgment of Christine Feehan, read the first in the series. If you like that, you have three-three more to go at.
