Burn Zones by Jorge P. Newbery will enthrall readers and motivate many to conquer a new business, hobby, or life-long dream. Newbery’s book chronicles his impressive and astonishing climb to financial success through various business ventures, including paper routes and stage rentals, all while underscoring the importance of saving a dollar. Newbery achieved millions through real estate transactions before turning 40, only to lose everything on one ill-fated project. Not only did Newbery lose everything, but then he ended up $26 million dollars in debt.

Everyone can relate to the bottom falling out. The fact that this narrative describes true events makes the main character even more appealing and engaging. Newbery’s circumstances could have happened to anyone, and in many ways have happened to everyone. Despite this misstep, Newbery demonstrates the power of determination and willingness to pick oneself up and to try again. Instead of wallowing in self-pity for the rest of his life, Newbery recognized his errors, looked for the lesson, and propelled himself ahead. Whereas his previous real estate ventures generated millions of dollars in revenue and required a troublesome degree of risk, his new real estate projects provide significant satisfaction as his organization helps homeowners maintain ownership of their property through financial setbacks.

Readers from different walks of life and circumstances will relate to the desire to better oneself and, at one time or another, have experienced hurdles that complicated entrepreneurial plans. Everyone faces a rough patch at one time or another, particularly with finances. The determination and drive that brings a person back from those difficult times will prove invaluable moving forward.

Anyone can start over; they just need to put one foot in front of the other. Burn Zones captures the importance of appreciating success, acknowledges that everything can alter in one instance, and ultimately demonstrates the changes that can occur because of one determined individual. A must-read for everyone, Burn Zones easily deserves 5 stars.
