Jo-Niederhoff-cropQ. What is the best part of being a book reviewer?

A. The best part about being a book reviewer is discovering work by writers I might otherwise not have heard of.

Q. Is the book always better than the movie?

A. Not always, but most of the time. It’s hard to tell the exact same story while using a very different medium, so there will always be some trade-offs.

Q. You’re shipwrecked on a deserted island. What one book and snack do you have with you?

A. I’d want some dried fruit and Audre Lorde’s Zami.
