Editorial Assistant – Intern
Are you a student or recent graduate looking to break into the field of book publishing? If you’d like to beef up your resume with some excellent hands-on experience that will radiate from your resume, look no more!
We’re looking for a couple intern editorial assistants to help us with the day-to-day operations of running a book review publication.
Location: Sacramento, CA
Unpaid Internship
One of the positions would require that you be physically IN our office in Sacramento. Duties include helping to check in the hundreds of books we receive every week, shipping them out to reviewers, interfacing with publicists, ordering books.
If interested, email your resume to info@1776productions.com.
Location: Telecommute
Unpaid Internship
We have plenty to do that doesn’t require you to be physically in our office. Some of our interns are college students going to school way far away from Sacramento, yet are as effective as if they were hanging with us in the office.
If you’d like some hands-on experience with running a book review publication, then look no more. Duties include posting reviews to our website (WordPress engine), interfacing with publicists when their reviews are available (which is a fancy way of saying “lots of emailing”), ordering books, and just about anything we can throw at you that you can do for us away from our office.
If interested, email your resume to info@1776productions.com.
Graphic Designer
Location: Telecommute or in our Sacramento office (pick your poison)
Unpaid Internship
If you’re looking for some fabulous experience for your resume, we can use some help with layout with three of our publications (Sacramento Book Review, San Francisco Book Review and Tulsa Book Review). Layout for the publications is done using InDesign. Ad design is done using a combination of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Crunch time is at the end of each month, so you’ll need to be available for some heavy hours during that 1-week period every month.
We’ll be launching a digital publication version for tablets using HTML 5 in the near future. It is anticipated that we will be jumping to Quark for this. If you’d like experience in working with creating a truly digital publication, come learn with us.
If interested, email your resume to info@1776productions.com.
