It isn’t often that we pry ourselves our from under the mounds of books we process in our office each day to take a field trip. Last week, when I received an email from Publicity Coordinator Alyson Pullman with Chronicle Books, saying that they were having a grand opening of their newest book store in the Metreon, it was a no-brainer that I was going to load up The Team and take them all on a field trip. Not only is it always fabulous to meet a publicist in person (because we email back and forth all the time), but c’mon …. this is Chronicle Books …. my all-time favorite book publisher!
We arrived about 30 minutes early, and the crowd was already starting to gather.

And, boy, does Chronicle put on a good party!
The nibbles of cheese, artisan breads, and fruits, were delicious (I was glad I didn’t miss the truffle popcorn). The wine and beer was flowing … and the Kara’s Cupcakes were oh-so yummy (but, of course!).
